I wish more business owners asked themselves that question before they start their business. The reason why this question is so important is because the brand strategy is the soul of a business. And if a business does not have a soul, then the only thing that it wants is the client’s money and nobody likes that right?
The Essence of Brand Strategy
In this article today I want to quickly explain what is brand strategy and how it benefits the ones that use it properly.
Brand Strategy vs. Brand Identity
The common thinking is that brand strategy is the same as brand identity. Nothing can be further from the truth. The brand identity is the visualization of the brand strategy. So, I want you to think of it this way. Before you go out to meet with people, regardless if you are going to work or meet with friends at a bar, you are doing some thinking how you are going to get dressed right?
Expressing Yourself Through Brand
And why is that?
It’s because you want to express yourself in a way that is unique to YOU and you want to be remembered. But the biggest misconception is that you will be remembered for how you were dressed.
NO! You will be remembered for how you made people FEEL during your communication.
The Impact of Communication on Brand Strategy
Think of a time when you had nothing special on you but you were the soul of the party and in the morning you had a dozen invites on Facebook. Now think of a time when your clothes were on point but you were grim and not inviting and nobody wanted to speak with you. And that is what brand strategy is. It is the feeling that people have when they communicate with your brand. And it is your responsibility that feeling to be consistently positive.
Building Your Brand: Key Considerations
